Oregon DPSST Refresher Course: Unarmed Security Professional
Unarmed security professionals certified by the Oregon DPSST are required to complete recertification training every 2 years. This 4-hour course will deliver not only the material required by the state but additional content such as most recent best practices and practical application based on the experience of our instructors in the field to optimize the performance of unarmed security professionals.
Unarmed security professionals certified by the Oregon DPSST are required to complete recertification training every 2 years. This 4-hour course will deliver not only the material required by the state but additional content such as most recent best practices and practical application based on the experience of our instructors in the field to optimize the performance of unarmed security professionals.
Participants must be over the age of 18 and hold either a GED, high school diploma, other higher certification or degree.
Individuals previously certified who have since their previous certification received a conviction for domestic violence or felony charge, who are now required to register as a sex offender under ORS 163A.010, 163A.015, 163A.020 or 163A.025, or who have been convicted of any of the charges listed in ORS 137.700 will not meet the moral fitness requirements for an unarmed security professional recertification in the state of Oregon. Participants who are unlikely to receive their recertification following a background check performed by OSP are encouraged to not apply or complete this training course.
Our instructors reserve the right to refuse to allow completion of the course for individuals who are assessed during the course to be a safety risk to themselves or the public in the course of providing the services of an unarmed security professional.
